Manage what holds you back and take control of your life

About John Sheridan Psychotherapy

“One of the givens of being human is that we will inevitably have difficult times in our lives. It is at these times that support and, perhaps, another perspective is most valuable. I have experience helping people, just like you, who are struggling to cope with the circumstances and demands of contemporary life.”

Can Psychotherapy help you?

If you can answer YES to any of the following questions, feel despairing, no sense of hope or just feel stuck; psychotherapy can help.

Are you experiencing a current crisis in your life that you are struggling with?

Are past experiences continuing to negatively impact on you?

Are you having difficulty sleeping?

Are you really down, suffering low-mood?

Do unwanted thoughts invade your mind?

Does anxiety or stress leave you unmotivated to do important things in your life?

Do you notice you have become withdrawn from relationships with others?

How Psychotherapy can help you:

I can help you come up with creative solutions to make now a turning point in your life, to manage your current issues and work through what currently prevents you from living life fully.

How Psychotherapy Works:

Speaking to a therapist can feel less challenging than with the people you are closest, because;

I am not involved directly in your life, therefore I can view your life more objectively, non-judgmentally, with compassion and understanding.

I aim to provide a safe space that will facilitate you talking about anything you choose to, incorporate some strategies to make stress more manageable, learn more about yourself, particularly feelings and emotions that at times feel debilitating. In time your feelings of tiredness, lethargy and disinterest will lift, and you will find a new zest for life.

Testimonials

Thank you so much for the support that you've given me these last months. Whether or not I ever felt up to it at the time, those hours I spent with you helped me to be prouder and more grateful for the things I do have, and more resilient and optimistic in the face of the things I don't.

John is warm, welcoming and a great listener. He also gently facilitated me discovering things about myself and my life that in a way I was blind to. His support through a particularly difficult period in my life truly enabled me to whether the storm. Things are still challenging, however I feel more hopeful.
